What Bitz Is

Bitz is a free desktop application for Mac, Windows, and Linux that connects to multiple peer-to-peer file sharing networks simultaneously. Users can search Soulseek and BitTorrent from one unified interface, share their personal libraries with the network, and earn progressively better features by contributing more files. There are no subscriptions and no credit cards. Every feature is earned by giving back to the community.

Why We Built It

Existing P2P clients force you to choose between networks. Soulseek has the rare music and serious collectors. BitTorrent has the large swarms and wide availability. No client connected both — until Bitz. We also believed that file sharing software should reward the people who make the network valuable. The users who share the most should get the best experience. Bitz is built on that principle.

The Vision

Bitz connects six P2P networks simultaneously — Soulseek (modern twin-port 2234/2235), BitTorrent, eDonkey/Kad, Advanced Direct Connect, Gnutella, and Ares — and ties them together with a Torrent Bridge that upgrades any rare 1-to-1 download into a permanent BitTorrent swarm. The result is a P2P flywheel: every Bitz user who joins makes every network healthier, faster, and harder to kill.
